The NOAA Fisheries, Alaska Region, Habitat Conservation Division recently awarded Azura a contract to provide professional services to review and update the document titled Impacts to Essential Fish Habitat from Non-Fishing Activities in Alaska and enter all references into EndNote. This document was first written in response to the Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA). The document summarizes impacts to EFH from non-fishing activities and provides recommended conservation measures to minimize impacts on EFH and to encourage the conservation and enhancement of EFH.
As part of a North Pacific Fisheries Management Council (NPFMC) and NMFS process to review EFH components every five years, Azura’s marine scientists and fisheries biologists will review and update this document to reflect the most recent information available. They will also import and format all document references and an additional 3,800 references into an EndNote® library.
