On December 4, 2024, Azura’s CEO, Amy Whitt, had the privilege to participate as a panelist alongside industry leaders to discuss whale populations and the efforts being done to reduce environmental impact within the yachting community.

The panel was moderated by Gill Rodrigues of The International SeaKeepers Society and included valuable insight from Matt Zimmerman (CEO of FarSounder), Vienna Eleuteri (Initiator & Vice President of Water Revolution Foundation), and John DePersenaire (Director of Government Affairs & Sustainability – Viking Yacht Company and Chairman of the Whale and Vessel Safety Taskforce).

The panelists discussed the importance of large whales, why they need protection, how they contribute to the ecosystem as a whole, and the steps the yachting industry is taking to help protect whale species around the globe.
