Azura is excited to announce the launch of Whale Spotting & Safe Vessel Operations, an online course developed in partnership with FarSounder Inc. This course was created for mariners—including captains, crew, and support staff—who operate or assist in vessel operations in the marine environment.
Designed to enhance mariner awareness of large whales and how to prevent vessel-whale collisions, the course helps participants learn to spot whales, recognize behavioral cues, and navigate safely in whale-inhabited waters. It also explores why whales need our help, reviews protective regulations, and highlights how boaters can contribute to global marine conservation efforts.
By completing the course, mariners gain the knowledge needed to operate vessels responsibly, minimize risks to whales and passengers, and support ongoing conservation initiatives. Participants who pass the course receive a certificate of completion.
