Azura is excited to announce the award of five task orders under NOAA’s ProTech Fisheries IDIQ contract, expanding our support to NOAA Fisheries programs across the country. The awards include two successful recompetes of existing Azura task orders—supporting the Alaska Fisheries Science Center’s Auke Bay Laboratories (ABL) and the Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO)—along with three new task orders. Together, these awards reflect both the continuation of Azura’s longstanding NOAA partnerships and the continued growth of our scientific, regulatory, technical, and administrative support capabilities.

The task orders include:
- Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (IERP): Azura technicians in Juneau, Alaska, and Newport, Oregon, provide laboratory and at-sea field support for fisheries oceanographic and ecosystem research. Work includes processing fish, crab, and zooplankton samples; conducting biological and biochemical analyses; and supporting research surveys examining how environmental variability affects commercially important marine species.
- AFSC Auke Bay Laboratories (ABL): Building on Azura’s previous support to ABL, our team provides fisheries laboratory support to the Recruitment Energetics and Coastal Assessment program in Juneau, Alaska. Azura personnel process fish and zooplankton samples and support analyses of diet, energetics, genetics, stable isotopes, lipids, and other biological indicators used to better understand environmental influences on fish recruitment and condition.
- NMFS Office of the Assistant Administrator (OAA): Team Azura provides professional administrative and analytical support to NOAA Fisheries leadership, including FOIA and case coordination, program administration and process improvement, communications and Section 508 support, and travel, time and attendance, and other executive and mission-support functions.
- West Coast Region (WCR) Klamath: In partnership with prime contractor Saltwater Inc., Team Azura provides scientific and regulatory expertise to NOAA Fisheries’ California Coastal Office in support of ESA Section 7 consultation and Magnuson-Stevens Act Essential Fish Habitat requirements associated with Klamath Project Operations. The work supports conservation and recovery efforts for listed salmon, steelhead, Southern Resident killer whales, green sturgeon, eulachon, and their habitats.
- Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO): Following a successful recompete, Azura continues providing scientific, technical, regulatory, and administrative support to GARFO’s Protected Resources Division and Habitat and Ecosystem Services Division. Our team supports ESA and EFH consultations, offshore wind and other development reviews, protected species recovery, marine mammal and sea turtle stranding and disentanglement response, Atlantic large whale conservation, fishing gear research and modification, stakeholder outreach, economic analyses, and other conservation and regulatory activities.
Together, these five awards demonstrate the breadth of Azura’s capabilities—from fisheries and ecosystem science, laboratory and field research, and protected species conservation to regulatory consultation, policy support, data analysis, and program administration. We are especially proud to continue trusted partnerships through our ABL and GARFO recompete awards while expanding Azura’s support to additional NOAA Fisheries programs and offices nationwide.
